Filling the effect and influence of the internal sizing of paper

Fillers affect internal sizing in two ways:

(1) Because the filler consumes the sizing agent originally adsorbed on the fiber I, the addition of the filler will generally affect the sizing, and only some sizing systems that can simultaneously optimize the chemistry of the wet end of the paper can be undisturbed by the filler;

(2) The added filler chemically reacts with the components necessary for sizing. The reaction of CaCO3 with alum can cause difficulty in sizing, and at the same time cause a lot of bubble formation operation. Therefore, the use of calcium carbonate filler must use neutral sizing.
