Foods that meet food regulatory standards

Manroland and PrintCity's Print City partners described print compliance with food regulatory standards in the PraxisDialog practice series.
Producing packaging that meets food regulatory standards poses special challenges for printing companies. In the PraxisDialog practice series 23, held in Offenbach, Manroland and its partners in the printing industry talked about how to ensure a harmless production.
For packaging printing, consumers' health is always the top priority. Food must not be contaminated by the odor and chemical composition of packaging materials. Food packaging not only needs to induce people's appetite, but also requires a production attitude, that is, ensuring that packaging does not present any health risks to consumers.
Risk-free production Any company involved in the production of food regulations and standards needs to ensure the safety of food packaging. This requires extra attention to the interaction of the photo-resist layer, ink coatings, and consumable materials and additives. Increased paint effectiveness, hot or cold foils, and storage and transportation all affect the quality of the package. The security of packaging production needs to strengthen the links between food production companies and printing companies.
More than 90 guests who participated in this practical project not only gained information on the use of packaging ingredients associated with the implementation, but also learned a large number of relevant food laws and printing presses and drying technologies that support the printing of food regulations in Europe. In the practical application of the printing center, the guests were shown how a fine chocolate box was printed using low-transfer inks and paints, and the effect was enhanced by the in-line cold foil.
