Electrostatic flocking printing technology printing process principle

The flocking printing is a kind of technological method that prints the adhesive layer on the surface of the printing material, and plants the fiber fluff to bind with the adhesive layer to obtain the velveteen-like print. This process is unique in the printing and dyeing process.

Electrostatic flocking is a process designed based on the principle that two objects with different charges in the electric field are repulsive and attract each other. The high voltage electrostatic field generated by the electrostatic generator is connected at one end to a fluffy metal net and one end is connected to the ground of a flocked grey cloth coated with a binder. The fluff on the metal net is negatively charged, and is attracted by the positively charged ground electrode, and it is accelerated vertically onto the greasy coated fabric. If the fluff is not planted, it will be positively charged due to the influence of the electric field. That will be drawn back to the metal network. The fluff will constantly bounce in the electrostatic field until the grey cloth is evenly covered with velvet.

The principle of electrostatic flocking is relatively simple, but the technology of electrostatic flocking is still in its infancy in China. The combination of electrical, chemical, fiber, and mechanical technologies is required to produce unique flocked products.
