British material manufacturer Iose Polyolefins announced that it has developed a new low density polyethylene that can be adapted to the long-term needs of pharmaceutical packaging. The commercial brand of this new material will be classified under the EltexMED Low Density Polyethylene and meet the European Pharmacopeia and USP Class VI requirements and be filed under DMF. The new material is particularly suitable for three-in-one blowing and encapsulating (BFS) technology in pharmaceutical packaging lines, such as intravenous infusion bottles, disposable ampoules, and the like. It can also be used in the production of injection mold packages and can withstand distillation processes exceeding 110°C. Ethylene oxide sterilization or radiation sterilization of more than 35 kGy.
