These Shazam-inspired earbuds were designed to generate buzz around the release of the 2019 movie, turning a simple promotional item into a memorable experience for fans.
Project Objective
The goal of this project was to develop a unique promotional product that would help promote the release of the superhero film *Shazam*, part of the DC universe and produced by Warner Bros. CustomUSB’s design team chose to use their popular earbud headphones as the base for this project, bringing the client’s vision to life through creative and functional technology.
How We Did It
Designing the Earbuds
This project required close collaboration between multiple teams. To stay true to the movie’s visual identity and emotional tone, the client provided a logo and described their vision. Our design team then brainstormed and created a sketch that reflected the theme of transformation, central to the *Shazam* story.

After the final design was approved, we selected materials that matched the aesthetic and durability needs—plastic body, silicone cable and earpieces, and a PVC lightning bolt charm to add a signature touch.
Designing the Packaging
Packaging plays a key role in the overall user experience. The design needed to be visually appealing, informative, and stand out from the crowd. After two rounds of revisions, we settled on a packaging solution that highlighted the earbuds’ design and prominently featured the Shazam logo, making it instantly recognizable.
Once the packaging was finalized, the product was ready for production and shipping. From concept to delivery, our team completed the project within 60 days, ensuring speed without compromising quality.
The Product
The Shazam earbuds were one of our favorite projects. Their unique design, including a 3D lightning bolt charm, made them stand out, while the high-quality materials ensured long-lasting performance. Promotional products should not only look good but also work well, and these earbuds delivered on both fronts.
