Egyptian Bread Recipe

The recipe I’m sharing today is one the girls tried out for making Egyptian bread. This bread is quite dry and has a texture similar to pita bread. We found it relatively straightforward to prepare and it turned out to be a great choice for our initial baking attempt. As I prepared the dough, I let the girls take over and knead it in the garden since they were having so much fun outdoors. It was such a pleasant experience being outside together, creating something from scratch. Kneading dough proved to be quite the workout! The girls thoroughly enjoyed shaping the dough into balls and flattening them. They were thrilled with how their final loaves turned out. Once baked, the bread was indeed very dry and had a somewhat coarse texture. While it was quite filling, it worked best as a side dish paired with meals that included plenty of liquid, like stews or curries. During this baking session, I realized that my oven was set too high, which caused some of the bread to crack slightly. For future attempts, I’d recommend reducing the temperature to around 170°C, as I believe that would yield better results. The girls were absolutely delighted when they saw the finished bread. Each of them insisted on having two slices, clearly proud of their efforts. I would definitely consider making bread with them again. They adored every step of the process and took immense pride in their finished products. In addition to this Egyptian bread, we’ve experimented with other fun recipes. One of our favorites was the Fidgets Popper Cake, which was a hit at parties. Another memorable creation was the Harry Potter Camping Cake, inspired by the magical world of Hogwarts. Baking with the kids not only strengthens our bond but also teaches them valuable skills. Whether it’s kneading dough or decorating cakes, these moments create lasting memories and a sense of accomplishment.
