Heidelberg introduces the Speedmaster XL105 family of products

Heidelberg will start the Speedmaster XL 105 series of sheetfed offset presses at the Wiesloch Assemblies (Wiesloch, the world's largest and most modern printing machinery manufacturer to date) starting in April 2005. This press was debuted at the drupa exhibition held in Düsseldorf in 2004. All the components of the press have passed the beta test and are highly praised by customers. At present, the printing press is ready to be sold globally. The main order areas are located in Europe, the United States and Asia. The printing presses are suitable for printing in the commercial and packaging industries and can fully demonstrate their highly automated and efficient production capabilities. The Speedmaster XL 105 has a production speed of 18,000 sheets per hour and a print size of 75 x 105 cm (29.53 x 41.34 inch).

The Speedmaster XL 105 proves that Heidelberg has taken another step forward in sheetfed offset printing, refreshing the original brand Speedmaster SM/CD 102 (print size 70 x 100cm, or 27.56 x 39.37 inch). The production hall of the two brand presses is a hall with a total area of ​​72,000 square meters (equivalent to 9 football fields). The production of the single Speedmaster XL 105 requires 200 employees. They are located in the pre-assembly department, the printing equipment assembly department and the final assembly department. A total of five printing equipment and one coating equipment assembly are to be completed. The total weight of the printing press is 63. Ton. Only one printing device consists of 3,000 parts and the total weight exceeds 7 tons.

The first Speedmaster XL 105 series offset press will be shipped to Heidelberg's print media center in Austria to demonstrate the high quality and efficiency of this offset press to customers who care and support Heidelberg. A customer advocacy team consisting of 20 to 30 people had already appeared in the Weissloh assembly plant since the end of 2004. From May 2005, two Speedmaster XL 105s will be installed at the Heidelberg Print Media Center for demonstration purposes.
