Rain test chamber test level comprehensively mastered (on)

The rain test chamber is designed for testing the external lighting and signaling devices, as well as the protection of car lamp housings. Depending on different testing requirements, it is divided into 8 levels. Today, professional engineers from Beijing Yashilin will provide a detailed explanation of each level and its specifications.

IPX1 and IPX2 are drip test devices that have been developed based on technical parameters specified in GB4208-2007, which corresponds to GB/T4942.1-2006 and GB10485-2007 for automobile lamp housing protection. Key technical specifications include:

Water spray aperture

0.4mm

Drip tank height adjustable range

200~2000mm

Rainfall

3~5mm/min

Drip area

800mm × 1000mm

Drip tank height

300mm

Sample stage size

500×400mm with T-shaped fixing groove

Sample stage angle

Adjustable from 15 to 45 degrees (relative to vertical) (for IPX2)

Sample stage speed

1r/min (for IPX1)

For IPX3 and IPX4 tests, there are two methods available: the swing tube method and the hand-held sprinkler method. The test sample is mounted on a suitable fixture to withstand the water jet produced by a semi-circular elbow. If the sample is too large for the swing tube method, the hand-held sprinkler method should be used instead. When using the swing tube method, the following conditions must be met:

1. The elbow radius should be either 1000mm or 1600mm, and the pipe should be equipped with nozzles spaced 50mm apart within the designated angle range. The pipe should be swung 180° as much as possible.

2. The test water must be purified or distilled water that meets the required standards.

3. The support table for the test sample must be open, capable of replacing the function of a water retention plate, and also able to rotate smoothly.

The following table outlines the test conditions for these levels:
