Praised for her daring approach to design and adventurous color combinations, Yasmine Saleh Ghoniem , the principal, almost didn’t follow her passion. Despite earning a degree in interior design in America, she arrived in Australia holding a diploma in one hand and a microphone in the other, ready to pursue a career in music. After leaving behind her past as a performer, she co-founded the internationally acclaimed and award-winning studio, Amber Road, in 2013 alongside her sister, landscape architect Katy Svalbe. Performance and staging remain key inspirations in her work, evident in the unique residential and hospitality projects she spearheads. Her designs are celebrated for their visual harmony and atmospheric depth, earning numerous accolades.
At YSG, the studio’s vision is shaped by staging and storytelling. Beyond interior design, they offer architectural services including new builds and renovations. Their immersive approach to designing private residences, hospitality spaces, and commercial venues involves creating cohesive elements—from cabinetry to furniture—that result in distinctive, unforgettable spaces.
