Digital technology is the key

In the development of future markets, digital technology has long since penetrated into prepress and printing workflows. Reliability, flexibility, and efficiency are all direct results of the electronic technology revolution. The data generated during the packaging design stage can be reused when proofing is done for the customer to sign and trace changes. At the packaging production stage, the same data is also used to print product promotion descriptions, make digital commercials, or decorate online stores.
After data records are published at the central station, production units around the world can use them. In order to meet the needs of different countries, colors, fonts and languages can be changed. For example, pharmaceutical companies are developing new digital processing systems to e-mail the production data (including print data) of the product's military department to other countries in all continents immediately so that local manufacturers can also produce the kind of product and packaging they need.
Digital network has become an important part of the printer business. Commercial printers have already pointed the way forward for packaging and printing peers to produce the products ordered by customers at the high speed required by the market. Prepress, printing and postpress all links not only in logistics management, but also in the digital chemical process. In an analogy, the die-cutting machine in the finishing process and the printing machine in the printing shop know what kind of job to come because the job data has been entered into the pre-press processing system.
Folding cartons (boxes) manufacturers have a special interest in the commercial processing technology because they face enormous cost pressures and the price of packaging materials is not low. The computer can calculate the optimal parameters of a single device; the offset printing plate can be produced by a computer-to-plate system, and the ink supply device can set ink supply parameters for multiple printing machines in advance through the central console. The technicians set the color files, cardboard size and thickness, and the operators are fully focused on the printing mechanism printing quality. At the time of reprint, the color enhancement and finishing processes require faster machine preparation speeds. In particular, today’s production tends to be characterized by smaller job sizes and increased complexity. In other words, the printing plate should be installed in one place, and the transitional waste should not be caused when printing is started with the new printing plate. At the same time, programmable automatic blanket cleaning devices should also be used. High-quality folding carton printing jobs seem to be concentrated in the size of 72 x 102 cm. Many printers only have a 100 x 140 cm press. However, the printing speed should be increased by 10% because the delivery time of the job is very short (eg pharmaceutical packaging). This requires business personnel and operators in the printing and finishing shop to have a good quality of work and to establish a paramilitary organization-like processing production line.
In the folding carton processing and production department, "compound" type printing presses including various printing methods have long been put into use for a long time. On-line flexographic equipment is often equipped with 4-color offset printing devices. The same situation also occurs in the direct printing production of overweight cardboard, F-grade corrugated cardboard and a small amount of E-grade corrugated cardboard. At present, the direct printing volume of Class G corrugated board is also rising.
In competition with preprinted equipment, the wide format printer is equipped with two ink supply devices and two drying devices to enhance the decorative processing functions. The double-sided printing device can perform monochrome back printing without sheet turnover.
Tin printing has high requirements on the performance and automation of the printing press. The equipment used is a modern wide-format printer, from 70×100cm to 120×162cm, and a small and narrow 50×70 cm printer, all with finishing and processing functions. Technological advances in sheet metal printing have approached the printing levels of other packaging materials. For example, printers seldom think of printing 4- or 6-color printing on metal sheets.
