Some experiences on pollution control of steel drum coating production

With the continuous deepening of environmental protection work in China, the government and people at all levels have continuously increased their awareness of environmental protection work, and the environmental protection work of the barrel industry has gradually been recognized by leaders and employees at all levels, especially our company. In Shanghai Pudong New Area, environmental monitoring is very strict. Our company started research and formulated plans for the exhaust gas treatment of the barrel surface paint spraying process five years ago.
It is well known that there are two sources of waste gas pollution in the steel drum production line:
The first source of pollution: high-temperature exhaust gas from the drying room, which seriously pollutes the surrounding environment and the atmospheric environment.
The second source of pollution: the spray booth. The waste gas from the leveling chamber is polluted, causing pollution in the workshop and nearby environment.
Paint is an indispensable main auxiliary material in the process of making steel drums. After the steel drum is formed, it is generally required to be coated. In order to ensure the quality of the coating, a large amount of thinner is used in addition to the paint, and the viscosity of the coating is adjusted during the spraying process, so that the coating system becomes a fluid that is easy to spray, in the coating. During the baking process, with the evaporation of a large amount of solvent, the coating is baked into a uniform coating film, so that the surface coating of the steel drum is durable, bright and full of color.
The solvent used in the steel drum coating is basically a mixed solvent containing benzene, and the benzene (benzene, toluene, xylene) is more harmful to the human body (reducing white blood cells) and seriously damaging the atmospheric ozone layer.
In the steel drum coating process, organic solvent gas emissions are divided into two parts:
First, the spray booth. The discharge of the flow chamber is due to the discharge of solvent gas at normal temperature, the concentration is low, and then discharged to the atmosphere through water filtration and other devices, so the pollution level is relatively light;
The second is the exhaust emission of the paint drying room. Because the baking film of the coating is high temperature baking (140-160 ° C), the organic solvent is all discharged from the drying room into high temperature gas, so the degree of exhaust gas pollution is quite serious.
In particular, our company has seen rapid growth in steel drum production in recent years. At present, there are 3 production lines with an annual output of 1.3 million barrels, but with the increase in steel barrel production, the degree of exhaust pollution has become increasingly serious. Our company has calculated: 5 barrels per minute, 1kg per minute per line
The paint can produce 5 steel drums. A certain amount of thinner needs to be added per kg of paint.
Then the exhaust gas per minute is (1.kg + 0.2kg) × 75% * 3 (bar) = 2.7kg;
1 hour discharge is about 2.7kg × 60 minutes = 162kg
Every day, according to 8 hours, 1296kg of toxic and hazardous substances are discharged every day.
Calculated in 250 days per year: 324 tons of toxic and harmful gases are emitted.
In order to solve this exhaust gas pollution, our company visited relevant enterprises five years ago to jointly develop environmental protection treatment and heat energy recycling equipment (the two burners of the original paint drying room can be stopped, and excess heat is supplied for dehydration drying). Room use) After the purification, the gas emission reaches the national environmental protection standard of GB16279-1996.
Especially in the heat reuse, the operating cost of using the environmentally friendly furnace is lower than the production and running cost of the original drying room (the burner of the original drying room is stopped, and the excess heat is used for the dehydration drying room). Four environmentally-friendly treatment and heat recovery devices are currently in good condition and the equipment is operating normally, solving the problem of exhaust emissions that have been plagued for many years.
In order to further solve the environmental problems of the second pollution source (spraying room, flow chamber exhaust gas pollution), last year, our company further introduced the use of filter suction method to treat the exhaust gas in the spray booth and the leveling chamber, which started operation in November last year. Exhaust gas has reached national emission standards.
Some experiences:
1. Environmental protection work is related to the sustainable development of a company. It should be highly valued by our barrel-making enterprises. At present, the country has raised its agenda for environmental protection work, especially in first- and second-tier cities. The pressure of environmental protection work, I do not know whether colleagues have the same feeling.
2. When considering environmental protection, we must also consider the economic benefits of the company. The energy-saving and environmentally friendly furnaces used by our company have achieved the purpose of waste gas treatment and saved energy. According to incomplete statistics, the use of energy-saving and environmentally-friendly furnaces can save energy. 7 %.
3. There are still many other environmental problems in our barrel industry, such as surface treatment degreaser. The treatment of phosphating solution needs to be further studied and solved together.
4. In order to make our sky bluer, the water is greener and work together to achieve environmental protection while achieving economic benefits.
