Sharp established Polypropylene (PP) and Polystyrene (PS) that can be recovered from four types of waste household appliances (air conditioners, televisions, refrigerators, and washing machines) without loss of strength and quality, and used them again in the above 4 Home appliances technology.

The “Kansai Recycling and Recycling System” joint venture by Japan's five home appliance companies will use this technology to regenerate waste PP and PS, and Sharp has officially adopted these recycled materials in new products since May. It is estimated that in the year 2003, the total usage of air conditioners and refrigerators will reach 120 tons, and 200 tons will be used in washing machines (the use of plastics in televisions is very small, ignoring).

Using this technology, it is possible to test the life of recycled used PP and PS materials within an hour (on average, 20 days in the past). In addition, the life of used PP and PS can be prolonged by adding an antioxidant or the like, and reused as a recycled material. The qualities (strength, etc.) of recycled PP and PS are almost the same as those of pure PP and PS, and they can be reused repeatedly. The cost does not differ from the newly processed material. About this technology, Sharp is applying for 11 patents.
At present, China's waste plastic recycling environmental protection industry is not small, and has developed for many years. However, the technical level of the industry is not high, because many operators are half-way out of school, rarely Koban origin, and academic circles rarely support in this regard.

So far, the level of development of the industry is not high.
