Recently, a new type of covert radio frequency identification tag (RFID) was developed by Alien Technologies.
This is an ultra-thin label that is mainly used in the packaging of medical and compact discs. Its shape is linear, about 6CM long, less than 1MM wide, can be affixed to the CD disc and the bottom of the bottle and its packaging.
The tag has a reading range of 45CM to track the product and prevent the product from being stolen.
In addition it can also be applied to electronic document management.
The label made its debut at the 2003 Smart Labels conference.
