"Comparison" method and precautions for packaging design

"Comparative" can be seen literally as a comparison between one party and another or more, and it has a certain purpose. When people go to the mall to buy, it is inevitable that they must choose a "comparison" factor for "choosing" the diet. This is a comparison between the actual products and the selection based on their own preferences and the purpose of shopping. This is a common and simple comparison in life.

In our art design work, "comparison" is also ubiquitous. First of all, from the most basic sketch training, we can see that in the process of drawing, there is a comparison between the overall and local relations; there is structure, shape, light and shade Comparisons between reality, reality, distance, line surface, performance techniques, and art processing; secondly, such as professional basic training, in the completion of a feeling of “soft” and “hard” in color, with our experience, it is The comparison of image selection; and later, the comparison of color selection, the purpose is to select a shape and color that can better reflect the feeling of "soft" and "hard"; again, such as modern design, first compare the collected data. And choose, then propose a number of programs and then compare to choose the best solution. It can be seen that the "comparison" has been wearing the whole process of design from beginning to end. It is comprehensive, and the width of the comparison, the pros and cons of the comparison result are also constrained by many factors. Since design is a comprehensive discipline, it is necessary to organically combine science, art, life, culture, industry, politics, economy, energy, and the environment. When undertaking a specific design, it is necessary to make overall comprehensive considerations, trade-offs, and comparisons as needed. So, what are the factors to be considered in comparison?

The author believes that these factors can be divided into two major categories of subjective factors and objective factors. The subjective factors are composed of the following: the culture, history, geographical environment, economy, ethnic structure and structural factors of the designer's place of birth; the family composition of the designer, the environmental atmosphere, and racial root causes; the location of the designer's life and the life circle of the designer Factors; the level of education of the designer and the degree of education; designer's social experience factors.

The above forms and influences the designer's own personality traits, as well as his world view and design concept, which become intrinsic factors in the "comparative design" process. Objective factors basically include the following:

Human and environmental factors: For whom design, "who" includes the design delegator and design adaptation object (person: age, cultural level, economic ability, commonality and shared behavioral factors, personality and specific behavioral factors); designer's Superiors, colleagues and related personnel; related sudden human factors; non-related personnel, such as family members, friends, etc.

Physical and environmental factors: Geographical location, environment, various regulations, etc. of designing delivery points; design delivery methods; design and design adaptation (objects: material texture, proportion, size, shape, color, technology, process, economy, function, etc.) And some supporting design); transport and environment; time, weather, etc.; economy, energy, technology, industrial structure; culture, life, human structure and other factors. The above are external factors. In most cases, the "comparative design" process focuses more on external factors. In the design process, we can only have an optimal design result if we consider the details and the comprehensive factors. Of course, in the actual design process, it is not necessarily required to consider them one by one. This has a lot to do with the rich knowledge and experience, professional sensitivity and technical proficiency.

Design is a systematic project. The work of each link is treated and solved by the method of system engineering in soft science. "Comparative design method" is one of the important methods and an important part of methodology in design. In the traditional aesthetics of China, the “observation object” contains the “comparison” factor. The “observation object” is a visual perception of the attitude of pitching. When viewing the sky and the heavens, the observed objects are all existing physical objects. The images taken are all images that conform to "design." In the process of "observing" and obtaining images that conform to "design," they have undergone repeated "comparisons" and are a cycle of "compare after comparison." The process of reciprocation; the Chinese modern and contemporary art master Mr. Qi Baishi once said, “The beauty of paintings is not in between.” This has put the “comparative” factor in a quite prominent position. It tells us to learn painting, Paintings should be compared comparatively to painting and comparative painting. This is one of the methods leading to the high realm of art; Western gestalt psychology believes that humans have a need for "reconstruction" of perception in shape, of course, this This kind of "reconstruction" is not arbitrary and indulgent at any time. It has its own unique tendencies and laws, but it is inevitably subject to stimulation. In most cases, the characteristics of the stimuli themselves must not be one of their own. Adapting to the sensory "gestalt", the viewer (in this case Designed as a designer) itself will produce a strong tendency to change the stimulants. By comparing stimulants with each other, one will enlarge and expand those suitable features, and on the other hand, it will eliminate those hindering them. To be a concise, regular, and purposeful "Gestalt" feature that repeats several times until it becomes a perfect picture (Gestalt Psychology calls it "Complete Pressure"), and thus this "reconstruction" process has always been Through the "comparative" thinking; this "comparative design" method in artistic design is not essentially different from what has been described above. In order to do a good job of design, people frequently draw many sketches (plans) together to compare, filter, compare and re-screen, and then repeatedly select the optimal design plan. Such examples can be found everywhere. . In addition, the comparative design method in design is based on rationality. This is an important difference between "comparison" with pure art.

"Comparing" has changed due to changes in its restrictive factors. From ancient times to the present, it is omnipresent. If there are comparisons, there will be no similarities. Only when there is creativity will there be progress in the progress of human civilization and will there be social development. There is a lack of knowledge, and thus there is a desire for innovation and development. In our design system, we always use "comparative" design thinking and methods. Design will not be rigid and forever full of new ideas, showing a strong vitality.
