1, according to the exposure classification

According to the classification of exposure methods, it can be divided into inner drum type, outer drum type and flat type type. The most used types are inner drum type and outer type drum type. The inner drum type is mainly used for large format plates such as newspapers, such as Agile's Galileo VS system, ECRM's Wildcat/Tigercat system, and the outer drum type is suitable for thermal plates such as Kerry. Orsay Angel's Lotem series products; platform type is especially suitable for aluminum base, such as Barco's Mondrian system.

2, according to the exposure classification

In recent years, a new type of violet laser light source has been gradually adopted for many new CTP systems, and it is in parallel with red laser light sources and green laser light sources. Using the violet laser as the CTP plate making light source, the energy consumption of the equipment is lower than before, and the manufacturing cost of the equipment can be greatly reduced, and the applied plate material is also cheaper. Agfa's latest GalileoViolet and MitsuhishiChemical's lv-1/cobat8CTP platemaking system are all such products.

Second, CTP plate can usually be classified according to the base and coating

1, according to the base classification

At present, the types of plates can be divided into metal plates and polyester plates according to the plate base. Metal plates mainly refer to aluminum plate materials, which have high resistance to printing and are suitable for long-printing. The polyester plate is more able to meet the requirements of short-run printing.

2, according to the coating classification

Plates can be divided into photosensitive resin plates and thermal plates according to the coating. Photosensitive resin plates are suitable for medium-to-long-color commercial printing. The main products are Agfa's N91 photosensitive resin plate and Mitsubishi's LA-S type. Thermal plate can be processed under yellow light or filtered sunlight, and its plate making quality is currently the best. The main products are Kodak PolyLight's 830nm thermal plate and Fuji's LH-N1 thermal plate.
