U.S. Develops Bottled Water Bottles Made of Corn

Recently, the bottled mineral water plant in Colorado, USA announced that the bottled water bottle produced by the factory is corn starch as raw material, and one hundred percent can be decomposed without any impact on the environment.

The company’s designers stated that the corn-based bottles could be completely decomposed after 70 days of use.

The company’s founder, David Zuttle, said that the company’s sale of pure mineral water took 10 years to find in the Rocky Mountains of the United States. Therefore, the water must be matched with special bottles before it can be used in the United States. The highly competitive bottled water market stands up.

Zuttle said that a chemical company has extracted from corn a substance called multiple latex acids, used to make bottles, and then added a waterproof coating to maintain the shape and concentration of the bottles. Such bottles can be completely decomposed after 75 to 80 days under proper conditions.

The study pointed out that in the context of rising global oil prices, containers made of corn starch will be favored for their environmental protection.

According to reports, there are currently 60 types of bottled water in the U.S. market. About 95 billion empty bottles are sent to waste disposal sites each year, and the use of dissolvable bottles will have a positive effect on environmental protection.
