Promotion of packaging design

Product packaging design plays a very important role in product promotion. The quality of packaging design directly affects the promotion of promotional activities. Packaging has a role to play in the promotion.

The Torch Ice Cream's outer packaging image is printed in rotogravure and consists of a trademark and a mouth-watering delicious ice cream pattern. Because the outer packaging of ice cream left a deep impression on the person, the customer will never change the initial impression of the product. A bag with a magic effect is a good example.

Richard Zulman, chief executive of Mooresville, a subsidiary of Torch & Ice Cream, said that due to the renewed popularity of sweets, retailer and consumer reactions have become the most important factor. Zulman attributed the huge sales volume of this line to its successful visual packaging effect. It expresses different flavors of ice cream in front of consumers with vivid packaging patterns, such as almond ice cream and chocolate flavor ice cream. Because the product has exciting designs and packaging, it is hard to resist. Consumers buy, savor, start to like and buy again. When they buy again, they will not buy only one bag but buy four or five bags at a time. So sweets are seen as a stimulating food.

Eliminate consumer indifference

At the initial stage of product launch, sales volume was disappointing. Designer Michael Brown called for an improved pattern. Packaging is an aspect of stimulating consumption. The torch company should pay attention and try to update the packaging. They decided to replace the packaging supplier and cooperate with Socono flexo printing and packaging company. “We know we need more attractive packaging,” explains Zulman. “We also know that a single improved pattern is not enough. We need to improve the quality of printing. We chose this company because of its reliable, high-quality printing and efficient service. Moreover, we know that this company has the ability to meet our needs. ."

Socono offers eight spot color films from an extruded 60-ga polypropylene, F61W plastic film (which can be reverse printed and coated on a 60-ga PWS), and a It is composed of a metal film coated with BOPP. This eight-color bag is printed on a Soconod gravure press. Sonoco is just one of the big suppliers of flexible packaging in the confectionery industry. According to Sonoco's domestic financial manager, Hebert, due to the deadline for the re-listing of unsold products, the final packaging plans will be shipped to the packaging plant within 3 weeks after the final design drawings are delivered to the packaging supplier. Therefore, there are six weeks to completely change the eight-color packaging diagram. For some typical packages, it takes longer to prepare for pattern and print quality adjustments. Fortunately, Sonoco believes that they have the ability to speed up the production of products in order to maintain a competitive price, complete the task on time.

Digital high-speed production

Hebert explained that the main reason Sonoco can shorten the construction period is the use of a carving drum produced by the Keating Gravure company in the United States. Keating Gravure, located in Charlotte, is said to be one of the few in North America with a fully automated and highly skilled engraving process. From the processing of each graphic file to the daily delivery of the engraving drum, the entire process is electronically controlled. These automatic controls ensure that customers can obtain high-quality and durable rotogravure engraving drums at a reasonable price. Keating Gravure strives to shorten the production cycle because they own the Angelo's CreoScitex Iris press and an internal proofer. Pictures taken from these machines are an electronic thumbnail. Customer representative Mr. Russ Smith explained that although these plants are very far apart, they can still be color-calibrated in Charlotte and printed and produced accurately in the Sonoco printing shop. The time and cost required to transport the proofed nights back and forth are therefore reduced. Hebert then added that despite Sonoco's digital proofing, Keating's touch-proof high-fidelity soft proofing and electronic proofing equipment ensure accurate and consistent matching of proofs to reproduced print colors.

In addition to improving graphic quality, new types of film (packaging materials) are also very important because it not only improves the quality of the package but also extends the service life. This is especially important for shipping to foreign markets. Now, this kind of food exported by the torch company is hot in Saudi Arabia and Japan. The listing of this new packaging product has caused a sensational response from consumers. Packaging has become an important factor in the success of ice cream sales.
